Breath of the Wild revolutionized game design by deviating from traditional conventions, immersing players in a sprawling world where exploration knew no bounds. In addition, Hyrule’s meticulously crafted realm beckoned players from the outset, granting them the freedom to venture into every nook, cranny, and mountain peak.

However, despite its groundbreaking impact, few games have ventured to replicate its approach in the years that followed. Instead, the majority of “open world” games have adhered to a more formulaic design inspired by renowned series. Like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, opting for a safer and established blueprint.
