Game Freak, the renowned studio behind the Pokémon franchise, has joined forces with Private Division in a groundbreaking collaboration, marking their notable entry into the realm of AAA action-adventure gaming. Private Division disclosed its collaboration with Game Freak on an ambitious project titled “Project Bloom.” Director Kota Furushima from Game Freak expressed that fans should anticipate a departure from their signature monster collecting formula, promising an entirely fresh and distinctive experience.

Project Bloom Development

Kota Furushima, the director at Game Freak, expressed immense excitement about the opportunity to create a groundbreaking intellectual property (IP) that deviates significantly in tone from their previous works. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to create new IP boldly and tonally different from our prior work,” Furushima stated.

Furthermore, he disclosed that Private Division was the ideal publisher with whom they aspired to collaborate for their upcoming game. Game Freak holds utmost confidence in Private Division’s remarkable track record and global expertise, fueling their determination to develop an expansive and captivating action-adventure game that they eagerly await unveiling in due course.

Michael Worosz, the head of Private Division, conveyed the publisher’s honor of being the first Western publisher to collaborate with Game Freak on this project.

In conjunction with the announcement, Game Freak and Private Division unveiled the project’s first concept art piece. The artwork portrays a samurai positioned amidst a serene forest grove, surrounded by imposing, twisted trees that dwarf the samurai’s presence. This visually captivating image suggests that the forthcoming game will encompass a grander scale than Game Freak’s previous endeavors.

Details surrounding Project Bloom, including its supported platforms, remain scarce at present. The game is in the early stage of development, which opens a wide possibility of thinking. While specific launch dates have not been disclosed, industry insiders anticipate that Project Bloom will be released sometime within the timeframe spanning April 2025 to March 2026. As the development progresses, fans eagerly await further updates on this highly anticipated title.
